Now, I don't want to be a movie star, a singer, or anyone really recognized for anything at all, but I have realized how much I've left unspoken. There are dreams, desires, fears, regrets, and so much more that I've not said for multitudes of reasons. So perhaps through this small bit of writing I can get it all out. One of those things is the fact I would like to be a writer. Now, I don't necessarily want to be famous, but I would like to at least finish a book an get it published so I could hand it out to friends and family. But to tell the truth, I'm far to scared to write a book. Of what, I can't precisely put into words, at least not concisely. Maybe it is a fear of being a success, that people would actually like my book. Then they would want be to write more books, and truthfully I don't want to be a full time author. Maybe it's the fear of failure. That my book would be so horrible no one would publish it. Quite possibly it is the fear of writing itself. Although it is something I love, words have a mysterious power to them. So I roll the ideas around in my head, but cut them off before they have the chance to fully form. A book abortion so to say. So I simply stare at the screen, trying to will myself to write, without the courage to do so.
There's a song in my heart, unsung. A picture in my mind, unpainted. A story on my fingertips, untold.
